How to Connect Excel to Shopify

4. In the Import Data Wizard, enter the Shopify connection parameters.

4.1. First, select Shopify from Data Source.

4.2. Then, enter the name of your Shopify store in the Store field and type an access token in Access Token. The token is a secure string provided by Shopify when the user authorizes your app.

5. Additionally, you can specify whether you want to:

  • Allow saving Add-In specific data in the Excel worksheet
  • Allow saving connection strings in the Excel worksheet
  • Allow saving security info

6. The Import Data Wizard allows you to include some advanced options in the connection string. To open the Connection Editor, click Advanced.

7. To verify the configured connection, click Test Connection. You will see the Successfully connected message.

8. Click OK and then Next.

Now that the connection has been established, let's import some data from Shopify.

1. In the Import Data Wizard, go to the Visual Query Builder tab and select the needed database in the Object list. In this example, we are going to select the Products table.

3. To view the selected data, click Next and specify the Excel import options:

  • New worksheet: For creating a new worksheet for the imported data. If you choose this option, enter the worksheet name.
  • Replace data on existing worksheet: For overwriting the data in the existing worksheet with the imported data.

4. Click Finish.

Now, you can modify information directly in the worksheet. To edit data in the table, navigate to the Devart tab and click Edit Mode.

  • Change records in cells: To update data in a cell, just click it and type what you need. The updated cell is highlighted in olive.
  • Add new rows: By default, an empty row at the bottom of the table with empty cells is highlighted in green. In order to add new rows, simply fill in the cells of the said row and press Enter. If you want to insert a new row in another place, right-click on the number of the row to insert a new row before the selected one. Then, click Insert and enter the required data. The new row is highlighted in yellow.
  • Delete rows: Select the rows you wish to remove, make a right click, and select Delete from the menu. The deleted rows are highlighted in dark yellow.

Note: You can change all the highlighting colors in Options > Appearance.

Upload Excel data into Shopify

When you finish working with the data, you'll probably want to push it back to Shopify. You can do it by clicking Commit. Also, if you accidentally commit something you don't intend to, simply click Rollback to undo the changes and restore the previous state.
