Python Connector for xBase is a reliable connectivity solution for accessing the xBase family of databases from Python applications to perform create, read, update, and delete operations on data. The solution fully implements the Python DB API 2.0 specification and is distributed as a wheel package for Windows, macOS, and Linux.
The solution enables you to establish a direct connection to Visual FoxPro, dBase, and other xBase databases eliminating the need for the client library. A direct connection increases the speed of data transmission between a Python application and an xBase database and simplifies the deployment.
The connector supports a direct connection to the xBase family of databases without the database client library. It also lets you submit multiple update statements to the database for processing as a batch to improve execution time.
If your Python application must be deployed on multiple user workstations, you don't have to supply the database client library for every user since our connector supports a direct connection.
The connector provides options for ignoring corrupted data and metadata errors in DBF tables. Corrupted data is skipped, while intact data is properly retrieved.
