How to Install ODBC Driver for Dynamics 365?

Download the Devart ODBC driver for Dynamics 365.
Run the installer and follow the instructions in the wizard.
In case you already have the specified installation folder on the PC or another Driver version is installed, you will get a warning. Click Yes to overwrite the old files with the current installation or uninstall the previous driver version completely (recommended).
On the Select Components page, you can select whether to install the 64-bit or 32-bit version of the driver.
In the License Information dialog box, select the license type and activate the product. If you have no activation key, you can select Trial.
If you have an activation key, select the Activation Key option. Copy the activation key from the registration email or your Customer Portal account and paste it into the Activation Key edit box.
If you have the activation key file, click the Load Activation Key button and browse to it.
Click Next > Install > Finish.

How to configure an ODBC connection to Dynamics 365 database on Windows?

Open the ODBC Data Source Administrator.
Select the User DSN or System DSN tab.
Click Add. The Create New Data Source dialog will appear.
Select Devart ODBC Driver for ODBC Driver for Dynamics 365 and click Finish. The driver setup dialog will open.
Enter the connection information in the appropriate fields. If you choose this authentication type, enter the username and password for your Dynamics 365.
If you authenticate with OAuth2, click Sign In with Dynamics 365, enter your credentials, and grant the requested permissions to generate a refresh token.
You may test the connectivity by clicking Test Connection.
Click OK to save the DSN.

How to configure an ODBC connection to Dynamics 365 database on Linux?

After the linux (DEB or RPM) driver is installed, a DSN with the name DEVART_DYNAMICS is created. You can use it to test the connection with the DYNAMICS server. For this, perform the following steps:

Open the odbc.ini file located in the /etc folder. Find the DEVART_XBASE section and specify the required connection settings: Server=< your Dynamics 365 server address >, User ID=< your Dynamicd 365 user id >, Password=< your Dynamics 365 password >.
Run the UnixODBC Test Command utility and test a connection using the following command: isql -v DEVART_DYNAMICS

How to use Devart ODBC Driver for Dynamics 365?

You can use the ODBC driver for Dynamics 365 to connect to Dynamics 365 from different ODBC-compliant reporting, analytics, BI, and ETL tools. For example, if you use DBeaver to review the MySQL data, you need to do the following:

Open a Data Source Administrator and configure a Data Source Name.
To prevent the incorrect displaying of the SQL_WVARCHAR data types, go to the Advanced Settings tab and set the String Types to Ansi.
Open DBeaver application and select New Database Connection in the Databse menu.
In the Connect to database wizard, select ODBC and click Next.
Enter the previously configured DSN in the Database/Schema field.
Click Test Connection. If everything goes well, you'll see the Success message.
